Strangest April Ever -- Quarantined

The Corona Virus (COVID-19) continues which means we are still quarantined at home since the country was shut down on March 15th.  Such strange days!  Many people working from home; restaurants closed (except for pick up or drive thru); churches still closed; all schools, universities, etc. remained closed for the rest of the semester, which meant no proms, no graduation ceremonies, no Senior trips, etc., department stores and malls closed; movie theaters closed; no sporting events, concerts, hair and nail salons closed (yikes!!) or any large gatherings of more than 10 people which meant weddings or funerals could not be held (so sad!)!  I would have never dreamed we would experience this!  If one were to go to a grocery store, etc., a mask was an essential item.  I feel so sorry for all the employees who have to wear them all day.  Yikes!!
Tied a red ribbon around my tree to signify I am praying for healing for our Country
And in memory of Passover, I posted a red scarf over our door begging for God to protect us from the virus
On April 3rd, Copeland was spinning in his bedroom and hit the door -- breaking his toe 😒😒
Rachel called us in tears and said the doc at urgent care said he needed to go to Children's and have surgery.  Due to the virus, it was a tough thing cause only 1 parent could be with him.  Jeff and I made a fast trip to LR so both Rachel and Jonathan could go, even though one had to sit in the car (they took turns).  But the thought of their son undergoing anesthesia and surgery without them close by was just not going to happen.  Of course, she was very concerned about Jeff and I being exposed to the virus.....so we took all kinds of precautions and didn't have any problems.
Thankfully, the doctor at Children's didn't see a need for surgery.  He popped it back into place and then cast his food.

A week later, the cast came off and he was put into a walking boot which sure made it easier for him to maneuver (especially with all the stairs at their house!).   Copeland handled it like a Champ and he is now completely healed and all is good!
On April 4th, we got the very sad news that our friend, Bill Hall, passed away.  Bill and Judy "adopted" us when we moved to Galena -- feeding us a delicious meal every other Sunday and were so very kind and generous to us!
The picture below was of the last Easter, 2019, that we ate with all the family (and a few friends).
We love Judy πŸ’“and all the family and will always keep them close in our heart and in our prayers.
April 5th was Mom's 91st Birthday.  Sadly, because of the virus, we couldn't celebrate 😒
Jeff and I and Kaye and Rob did go over to Mom's a couple of times later in April/May and social distanced in the yard and/or driveway with carry out meals to visit.  Mom has been quarantined to her cottage now for all this time.  The facility brings her meals to her as she is not allowed to go into the main building.  It's been a lonely time for her, but overall she continues to do well.
It was also Palm Sunday (April 5th)
As we had done since March 15th - we worshiped on-line with our Church Family (Antioch Baptist) and also observed the Lord's Supper.   Another unique but sweet experience:
And as we have done almost every week, after Antioch's services, we worshiped with our son's church, The Mount in Keller, TX which has also been a sweet blessing.
As time has allowed, I also have listened to several others pastors/church services.  It has been amazing how the internet has exploded with the preaching of God's Word!!  Take that, Satan!!

Sunday, April 12th was Easter!!  It is the very first Easter in my 66 years of living that I was not in church!!!  Goodness -- it felt so wrong!
But was so powerfully blessed by the on-line services at Antioch (worship and preaching) and also Andy's services.  Loved, loved all the choir Zoom specials that were done.  Beautiful!
I had sent chocolate Easter bunnies to our grandkids....here are the Texas Swart kids
And then McCrary kids.....
Didn't get a picture of the Tennessee kids with their bunnies, but did get pics of them in their Easter clothes πŸ’–πŸ’–

One of the whole family!πŸ’•πŸ’•
Some fun pics around this time of Andy's crew

Mom and Dad hosted a "drive-by" birthday parade with many friends and their parents driving by.
Sweet!

Then on the 27th - was Gideon Ware's 3rd Birthday!
Jeff, Mom and I had participated in a drive by parade at our church on Sunday for our Pastor and Staff -- so I reused the signs and balloons on Monday and we did a drive-by for Gideon.

Since all of us had stayed quarantined during this time, we felt it was safe to actually celebrate in person!

Felt so good to hold/hug grandchildren again!!!πŸ’—πŸ’—

Our BMAA National Meeting was supposed to have been held the last week of April in Waxahachie, TX.  But, of course, had to be cancelled.  Jeff is President of our Association so that created a ton of work to do, but there was no choice.  Also the big women's conference at Antioch that previous weekend also was cancelled.
😒😒😒😒😒
As of April 27th, there were 54,877 deaths and 965,933 cases diagnosed in America
50 deaths in Arkansas and 3,001 cases
Worldwide: 206,811 deaths and 2,982,933 cases

Lord, I continue to beg you to heal our Land and to give our President and all his team much, much wisdom!!
