October 31-December 24th, 2020

Our grandchildren dressed for Halloween

The McCrary kids didn't leave the house -- Mom came up with a cute way for them to celebrate at home.

On top of Mt. Magazine

Deck lunch at Glo's with some of our small group gals.

I decorated for Christmas on Nov. 10th
A couple of days later, I woke up and wanted to go to Branson - ahhh, the joy of retirement.  Jeff was all in agreement.  We had a fun couple of days away.
Rode the big Ferris Wheel for the first time - and we really enjoyed it!
Then one day we finally used our 2020 Season Passes for the first time and went to Silver Dollar City.  Yes, I love the swings!
The lights at Christmastime are so, so pretty!!
The next week was the McCrary kiddos November visit
Thankful for a pretty "weather" week while they were here
Great Grandma came over for a little visit with them
Fun at the school playground
Always have to play games....
And yes, donuts from a nearby donut shop (and fruit and bacon to make it more healthy)!

I'm still loving my BSF Genesis study and Tuesday night Zoom with the gals in my group!

And I'm still walking!!  With winter upon us, I have to get creative in where I walk, but thankfully still can walk outside many days - even if I have to wear a coat and gloves.

Shepherd Knox turned 5 on Sept. 23rd.  We sure love you, Shep!

THANKSGIVING 2020 - So much to be thankful for!!
This was the first Thanksgiving in our married life that we spent the day at home alone.  Our children and families were with the spouse's family.  I fixed a smaller version of our normal Thanksgiving meal and we had a great day!
Banana Cream Pie - one of Jeff's favorites

We were thrilled that Josh and family stopped by a couple of days later on their way home from NWA for an overnight visit!
It was bitter cold the next morning, but Saylor insisted on some time outside and Dad obliged (for a short time!)

DECEMBER
Aviana Skye turned 16 on December 9th!  Our oldest is sure growing up into a beautiful woman!  We love you, Avi!

We didn't have a schedule visit planned for the McCrary kids in December but Jeff had put his desk and a guitar on Facebook for sale and Jonathan wanted to buy them - so we took the items to Little Rock on December 12 and decided it would be a good time for the kids to come home with us so Rachel could finish up all her Christmas shopping and the preparations for family to stay in a couple of weeks.
We decided to go downtown Little Rock on our way home and see the pretty Capitol.
Rachel does a special Christmas theme activity each day in December, so we had to do that while the kids were with us.  It was fun.  Always a book to open and read and then something to do along that same storyline.
Movie one night....
Another night, another book
And we drove around and saw more pretty Christmas lights (we had already done that in November, but Conway had so many beautiful decorated homes that we sure did enjoy it twice with the kids and once with Mom, Kaye and Rob).
Conway's Big Christmas Tree downtown
A cute picture sent to us of Saylor Faye!

Our 48th Wedding Anniversary was on December 22nd, so we went to Red Lobster in Little Rock for a tasty lunch that day!  So very thankful God has given Jeff and I all the years of a blessed marriage!!💖
The week of Christmas we finally got all the gifts wrapped and were excitedly waiting on the families' arrival!
I also got a haircut the week of Christmas
Christmas Eve, Jeff, Mom and I went to eat at Chili's.  Our kids were all at their own homes for the evening and Christmas morning.
The McCrary kids at their home in Little Rock, AR
The Texas Swart kids at their home in Ft. Worth, TX
And Christmas Morning, the Tennessee Swart kids in their home in Mt. Juliet, TN.  Early Christmas afternoon, they headed to Conway (and the rest came on the 26th).  Another posting to follow about our time together!

To be honest, I really enjoyed this Christmas season -- there was not the usual rush, rush that normally is associated with Christmas.  We didn't attend any parties or events due to covid. Our church was back to virtual only for the last couple of weeks in December (due to the rise in cases and deaths in our area).  We were so saddened at the loss of several friends to covid in December!  So tough!  The families of each one are still in our prayers!!
