SATURDAY DECEMBER 10--TIME TO HEAD HOME👎
6:20 am—Woke up.
6:45 am—Got up & packed.
8:40 am—Walked to eat at Centertown Market with entire group.
8:55 am—Arrived at Centertown Market and ate breakfast with all the family.
The kids saw Donald & Goofy in the hotel lobby.
9:40 am—After breakfast, we went outside our resort and took our last family photos. This is actually my favorite picture of the week of Jeff and I with the grandkids....thanks, Rachel.....Disney photographers need to take a lesson from you!
9:45 am—Debbie and I walked to the Internal Resort Bus Stop to ride bus back to our
rooms. Jonathan, Rachel & the kids walked the sidewalk back to finish packing.
10:05 am—Arrived back at our rooms & finished packing.
11:05 am—Porter came to get our luggage & we all rode to front
of hotel to wait on our Airport shuttle.
11:15 am—Sat in hotel lobby until time for shuttle bus to the
airport.
11:50 am—Debbie & I ordered chicken strips for
lunch and ate in the lobby. Rachel's family snacked on food items she had in her bag.
12:38 pm—We loaded onto the Sunshine Flyer for our trip to the
airport.
1:33 pm—We arrived at the airport Terminal B. (this whole process was very stressful--the most stressful part of our entire trip)! Long lines, etc.!
3:02 pm—Jeff wrote: Boarded the plane. Debbie & I sat in seats 21B & 21C. The kids sat behind us in the next section.
3:51–Took off for Charlotte, NC
5:06 pm—Landed in Charlotte, NC.
5:17—Jeff wrote: Pulled up at the gate—C10. Deplaned & went to use the
restroom & then needed to run to Gate B11 as we had a very short layover. My left quad muscle seized again on me
like it did last Sunday & I could not walk very well at all (even though I had my walker). I told them to
go on ahead of me & I would be there as soon as I could. Rachel stopped at
a gate & asked a gate agent for a wheelchair & Jonathan pushed me. I
know that I could not physically have made it to the gate on time without their help. Thanks, kids!!
5:43pm—Arrived at gate B11 & immediately boarded our flight to
Little Rock (we were the last ones on!).
Debbie & I had seats 13 B & 13 C. The flight was less than
half full so Debbie sat in my seat & I moved across the aisle into seat
13D. Rachel’s family sat in row 12 in front of us.
Between the two flights, the kids all got a turn sitting by the window😁
Jeff wrote: 5:55 pm—We pushed away from the gate.
6:09 pm—We lifted off on our flight to Little Rock. Bad weather
ahead & the pilot flew north to avoid it. Flight a little bumpy the last 20
minutes & especially as we landed as it was raining.
6:49 pm—We landed in the rain in Little Rock.
7:10 pm—Picked up our baggage at baggage. Temperature is 38 degrees colder than it was last night in Florida!!!
Rachel's crew got in their car and headed home!
Called hotel shuttle. Hotel shuttle picked Debbie and I up.
7:30 pm—Hotel shuttle dropped us off at our car & we headed to
Conway.
8:18 pm—Arrived home tired & happy!!!
Walked—5.25 miles
Debbie: always a sad day to have to remove my magic band for good.....(this is my second one on this trip...the first one was a dark pink...that I lost on the Dinosaur ride, but the store didn't have much choice in color, so ended up with this white one). The Magic Band gets you in the Parks, on all the rides, can be used to pay for meals, souvenirs, and even opens your hotel door! Pretty cool!
A few pictures that Andy, Carman, Josh or Michelle texted me of the kids at the Universal Studio's resort bowling alley on Sat. night:
Walt Disney World
The Disability Pass was wonderful!!! Thank you Rachel for spending
3 hours on the phone to get it for us!!!
Trash on ground.
Sinks not working.
Paper towel dispensers empty.
Soap dispensers empty.
Paint peeled completely off walls & trim in various spots.
Vomit on floor for at least 29 minutes & then I boarded ride.
Could have used Sani-Sorb or padded towels to cover it up!
Rides broke down numerous times on us😖
Debbie's disappointments👎:
Pictures were not very good! Not a single "whole"
family picture of good enough quality to make a large canvas for my wall 😠
Didn't get to see the Fireworks show at Magic Kingdom
Magic Kingdom - least favorite park (Carman agreed whereas it was her favorite in 2017)
Lost my Magic Band on the Dinosaur ride (Josh did too)...paid twice
as much to replace
Rooms weren't ready at hotel when we arrived (we requested bottom
floor as there was no elevator at this resort) Only Jeff and I got a
bottom floor room after complaining....
Very disappointed in Christmas decorations/music (they need to come to Silver Dollar City and see what can be done with Christmas lights, music and decorations!)
👍However I LOVED the
weather👃 (compared to the 100+ degree temps the majority of other times we have
been there!)
💖AND WE BOTH LOVED HAVING ALL 18 OF OUR FAMILY TOGETHER FOR THE WEEK!! THE BEST GIFT!💖
